Jennie Birkholz is the Principle with Breakwater Light, a consulting firm based out of Central Texas. Breakwater partners with a variety of organizations including non-profit social services, churches, community collaboratives, foundations, schools and healthcare systems to align strategies, and create greater collective impact. The cornerstone of many of her projects are based off of identifying and leveraging existing assets, and connecting systems. To do so a strengths-based, trauma-informed, open structured model of stakeholder engagement is used to create a collaborative, discovery environment.
Jennie has a passion for rural health, social determinants of health, faith and health and integrated care. She served in the public health field for over 15 years and earned a Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M University and a Masters of Healthcare Administration from Texas State University. Jennie is a certified Youth Mental Health First Aid Trainer and a SAMHSA certified Trauma-Informed Care trainer and uses these skills to transform places of faith, schools and communities into supportive systems for persons with a behavioral health diagnosis.
